Alessia Monastero is a student-at-law practicing in the areas of intellectual property and information technology law.
Throughout her legal studies, Alessia was actively involved with the law school’s Intellectual Property Law & Technology Program. She volunteered with the program’s Innovation Clinic and wrote often for the program’s online review. During her final year of law school, Alessia interned with a global film industry trade group, where she worked closely with counsel to help implement content protection strategies for major Hollywood motion picture studios in Canada. Alessia regularly conducts research in the areas of copyright and trademark law, and was awarded the Barry D. Torno Memorial Prize for two consecutive years.
Prior to law school, Alessia completed her Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus on marketing and branding. Alessia currently sits on the Canadian Bar Association's Copyright Policy Committee.
