On October 23, 2025, M. Imtiaz Karamat will moderate a panel titled “Minor Details, Major Consequences: The Challenges of Contracting with Minors?” at the Canadian Technology Law Association’s 2025 Annual Fall Conference in Toronto.

Imtiaz will be joined by a panel of privacy experts, including Susie Hendrie (Garabyte Consulting Inc.), David Fraser (McInnes Cooper), and Matthew Shogilev (OPC), to discuss the evolving landscape governing minors’ access to digital services. The panel will address current tools and rules for achieving age assurance, legal issues and real-world consequences of contracting with minors, and the current privacy concerns for organizations in Canada and abroad.
