October is Cyber Security Awareness Month – an internationally recognized campaign held each October to help the public learn more about the importance of cyber security.
The theme for Cyber Security Awareness Month 2026 is “Your best defence is you”. We can prevent many cyber incidents through building simple cyber security habits, such as checking suspicious messages, turning on multi-factor authentication and using strong passwords.
The Government of Canada will be sharing practical steps during October that Canadians can use to better protect their accounts, devices, and personal information.
