The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) has revised chapters 1-3, 13, 17 and 23 of the Manual of Patent Office Practice (MOPOP).

Chapters 1–3 (Contacting the Patent Office; Opening and Inspection of applications; Inquiries and Information on Pending Applications) have been updated to reflect the most recent practice notice respecting correspondence procedures.

Chapters 1 (Contacting the Patent Office) and 13 (Examination of Applications) have been updated with information relating to the Patent Examination Interview Service.

Chapter 17 (Biotechnology and Medicinal Inventions) has been revised with information relating to the presentation of sequence listings, especially with regard to amendments that intend to remove non-essential sequence(s) from a listing.

Chapter 23 (Disclaimer, re-examination, reissue and corrections of clerical errors) has been revised with information relating to the examination of multiple co-pending applications for reissue for the same patent.
