Taking another step towards implementing the province's unproclaimed Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (the CPA), the Ontario Ministry of Consumer and Business Services released draft Regulations for public comment in mid-December 2003. An important part of the draft Regulations deals with Internet agreements and other e-commerce issues. For example, the draft Regulations propose the adoption of the provisions of the national Internet Sales Contract Harmonization Agreement and its associated template (for more information on the template, see the article on Deeth Williams Wall's web site entitled "Internet Sales Contracts"). The draft Regulations also deal with the amendment, renewal, or extension of consumer agreements in an online context. Parties wishing to submit comments on the draft regulations must submit them to the Ministry by January 30, 2004. To view the draft regulations, see: http://www.cbs.gov.on.ca/mcbs/english/5Q7N9M.htm.
