Imtiaz Karamat is a student-at-law practising in the areas of intellectual property and information technology law.
Throughout his legal studies, Imtiaz was heavily involved in Osgoode Hall Law School's Intellectual Property Law & Technology Program. This included volunteering with the program's Innovation Clinic to assist inventors and entrepreneurs with the innovation and commercialization process. Imtiaz was also an avid contributor to the program's online review, preparing articles in the areas of trademark, patent and privacy law. His involvement in the program culminated in an internship with a major pharmaceutical company, where he worked with in-house counsel on regulatory and privacy matters.
Prior to law school, Imtiaz completed his Master of Science degree in Medical Sciences at McMaster University. As a graduate student, he focused on immunological studies and was awarded an Ontario Graduate Fellowship for his thesis on the immune system's role in stress-induced brain function and behaviour.
